Little Hands, Big World
I have always said it, but especially now, the fact has been underlined.
Over a year ago, I started an organization that has saved lives, brought people who thought they were alone - together, and gave hope to everyone involved.
That organization started with the desire to help, after being inspired by people who were doing just that - just because they felt like it. As the oldest of 7 children, I am a role model, I put myself out there, and participate in things that challenge me - not only to prove something to myself, but to show my siblings it's okay to embrace what makes us different and to inspire them to make a difference in their community.
Today, the tables turned, and one of my sisters became my inspiration. With the help of my family, she made as many rainbow loom bracelets she could, asked for donations in return, and used the money to buy 76 stuffed animals for the sick children in the local hospital.
So as I started to say, the fact has been underlined. I am incredibly blessed to be related to an amazing family who not only backs me on all my adventures and accomplishments, but creates their own adventures and accomplishments with the well-being of others on their minds. My organization started because of people like my sister, and on behalf of the community of which she is affecting everyday with her kindness, I say thank you.
I think everyone can learn something from this little girl today
